Eligibility

Students from grades 7 to 12 (plus CÉGEP) who are registered in school are eligible to participate in the Environmental Innovation division.  However, in order to be able to enter the EI division you must have been selected to compete at the Canada-Wide Science Fair.

If you were selected to compete at the CWSF by your regional fair officials, then you must self-nominate your project for the EI division when you register online.  For more information about registering for CWSF please click here, or go to the YSC website at www.youthscience.ca.

Learn More

In order to qualify for the Environmental Innovation division at the CWSF, your science project must focus on one of seven (7) environmental areas.  To learn more about these areas click here, or go to the environmental areas page.

PLEASE NOTE:
WHILE ENVIROEXPO SPECIAL AWARDS AND THE ENVIRONMENTAL INNOVATION DIVISION ARE SIMILAR IN MANY RESPECTS, THERE ARE KEY DIFFERENCES IN SOME OF THE ENTRANCE AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA.  PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU READ THE CRITERIA CAREFULLY AND CHECK WITH YOUR TEACHERS OR FAIR OFFICIALS IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
