The Scholarship consists of a $10,000 payment to an approved post-secondary Canadian educational institution. In order to be eligible for the Scholarship all of the following conditions apply to participants:

1. Your parent(s) or legal guardian must consent to the award of the Scholarship.
2. In the case of a project prepared by two finalists, the scholarship will be shared with $5,000 to each finalist.
3. You must attend an approved Canadian post-secondary educational institution within two years from the date which you graduate from high school, or in Québec, from high school or CEGEP.
4. Your Scholarship will be paid directly to your post-secondary Canadian educational institution upon receipt of confirmation of your enrollment.
5. The Scholarship is payable over a maximum of two years during your enrollment at an approved post-secondary Canadian educational institution. The Scholarship is reserved for tuition ONLY. In the event that the full amount of the Scholarship is not entirely spent within the first two years of enrollment, the difference will be donated in the student’s name to the academic institution they are attending as a gesture of good will.
6. Winners, or their parents/guardians, will allow VIA Rail Canada to use their names, photographs and other information to help promote the VIA Rail Canada’s EnviroExpo program.
